Brent Butikofer
I began my commercial brokerage experience in 2006 with NAI, Commerce One, located in Idaho Falls. After 5 years with NAI, Steve and I decided to break-off and form our own independent commercial brokerage company, called Idaho Business Properties. We’ve now been working together as Idaho Business Properties since 2011.
Why the change? First and foremost, autonomy. It’s our company, we run it how we feel best suits our clients needs.
Why just you and Steve? Shouldn’t you hire a bunch of additional agents for increased volume and signage? Steve and I made the decision early in our career to remain a small boutique company. This completely eliminates the HR issues larger brokerages face even time the phone rings. We have no internal conflicts. We share every deal, it doesn’t matter if you call me or Steve. We’d rather stay small and focus on what we love most, which is helping clients buy and sell real estate, than to grow and become something other than what we started.
Why call us? Because we are good at what we do. We can effectively negotiate real property acquisition, disposition and lease hold interests. We only sell commercial properties, we’re not splitting our time between residential and commercial. I actually hired a residential broker to sell my own home.
What’s your specialty? I specialize exclusively in commercial properties. I’ll answer the phone and actually engage with you in a productive discussion. We hire no administrators and assistants. You will speak directly to Steve or me. If we’re on the phone, we’ll call you back once free. It’s that simple.
How do you spend your spare time? I enjoy a myriad of hobbies such as: Sailing, Nordic skiing, Bicycling, Overlanding in my Jeep Gladiator, and Outdoor Photography to name a few. On many mornings, I can be found in my wood-shop building a custom wooden sailboat.
